Doctora en Filosofía por la Universidad Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Frankfurt am Main, Alemania. Profesora asociada del Departamento de Humanidades y Directora de Estudios de la Facultad de Arte de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Miembro fundador de la Sociedad Iberoamericana Nietzsche y del Consejo de redacción de revistas de filosofía. Autora de diversos trabajos sobre Nietzsche y sobre filosofía del arte en revistas especializadas.

She received her doctorate in Philosophy from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. She is an associate professor at the Department of Humanities and Director of the School of Art of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She is a founding member of the Latin American Nietzsche Society and an editorial board member of several philosophy journals. Kathia Hanza is the author of works on Nietzsche and on philosophy of art published in a variety of academic journals.

Risa y jovialidad: sobre tonos distintivos de la filosofía de Nietzsche

Cualquiera fuese la interpretación que ofrezcamos de la filosofía de Nietzsche, sería bueno que diese cuenta de por qué en ella se aprende la gaya ciencia de la risa. La risa y la jovialidad son tanto núcleos temáticos que importan a Nietzsche, como herramientas indispensables de sus análisis y escritura. El gusto por el consuelo intramundano de la risa se hace palpable sobre todo en la malicia con la que Nietzsche, en giros precisos e irreverentes, provoca la complicidad del lector. Entre las pistas joviales de su filosofía están: sus invectivas contra los filósofos, las máscaras de las pretensiones absolutas, la auscultación de las patologías modernas, la reelaboración del tiempo y el amor a la vida. Esos giros cómplices, irreverentes, desenmascaradores señalan una dimensión estructurante de la relación que Nietzsche mantiene con la tradición filosófica, pero también con la originalidad de las tareas de las que su propia filosofía quiere hacerse cargo. Lejos de postrarse en la aniquilación nihilista de que todo saber es una quimera, la filosofía se afirma como el gozoso experimento que con la risa comprende de manera excepcional la existencia humana.

Laughter and Joyfulness: the Distinctive Tones of Nietzsche’s Philosophy

Whatever the interpretation of Nietzsche’s philosophy one gives, it should provide an account of why in this philosophy one learns about the gay science of laughter. Laughter and joyfulness are not only important themes for Nietzsche, but also indispensable tools for his philosophical investigations and writing. His preference for the inner-worldly consolation of laughter can be seen in the malice with which Nietzsche, through precise and irreverent turns of phrase, provokes the complicity of the reader. Among the joyful paths taken by his philosophy are: his invectives against philosophers, the masks of absolute pretensions, the sounding of modern pathologies, the reworking of time and the love of life. These irreverent, unmasking turns signal an essential dimension of the relation that Nietzsche establishes with the philosophical tradition, but also with the originality of the tasks that his own philosophy takes up. Far from prostrating himself in the nihilism according to which all knowledge is mere chimera, philosophy affirms itself as the joyous experiment which through laughter grasps in an exceptional way human existence.
